Aloha – To Our Mahana Guests
Welcome to our little home away from home…
We love it - and we hope that you will too!
Here are a few helpful hints - and some useful information.
Check-in is 3 pm. Check-out is 11 am.
- Please refer repair or maintenance problems inside the unit to our housekeeper, Loretta Elam, at (808) 268-1272 (cell) or (808) 669-1220 (home). The Mahana is responsible for anything outside the unit.
- We suggest that you keep all open foods in the fridge so as not to encourage ants to visit. Please take your trash out each day. Use your plastic shopping bags. There is a trash shute in the utility room at the far end of your hall.
- There are extra beach towels for your use in the closet outside the bathroom. Since you are the guest of a private owner and not Resort Quest, the Front Desk will not provide pool towels or provide daily maid service. There is a washer and dryer in the unit for your convenience.
- In order to open the wall bed, first slide the mirrors to each side.
When you begin to lower the bed, rotate the footrest down. Before you raise it, rotate the footrest back up.
- The main telephone number for The Mahana is (808) 661-8751. To call the room directly, the number is (808) 662-7412. Upon check-out, you will be charged for local and 800 calls (.75 each) and long distance charges. These are quite expensive so you will probably want to use either a cell phone or a calling card.
- The DVD has been programmed so you can use the TV remote (Akai) for both the TV and DVD player. To use the TV, hit the power button and use the remote. To use the DVD, turn on the power of the DVD at the box. Hit “source” on the Akai remote. Quickly press down (in a southernly direction – not in) on the center joystick (round button between channel and volume buttons) and “S Video” will be lit. Press IN on center joystick button to select. To return to TV, hit “source” again. “TV” will be lit. Press IN on center joystick button.

- Prime dates for next year begin filling quickly and we would love you to return to 412 for another stay. Please email us as soon as you know you have plans for a return visit.
